Halo 4 gets new Forge options
Developer Certain Affinity is working on the Forge editor for Halo 4. It will have more options than previous editions of the editor. This makes it easier to copy objects, which makes it easier to build larger structures.
Certain Affinity announced itself at the Rooster Teeth Expo in Texas that it is working on the Forge editor for Halo 4. Studio members demonstrated an early version of the editor, showing off some new features. Particularly useful is the new way objects placed in a folder can be copied. Users can also indicate that a certain surface of an object is magnetic during the construction process and can therefore easily be stuck to similar objects. Both options make it easier to build a structure from similar, separate parts. The makers showed an example of a bridge that could be built from comparable bridge parts in a short time.
The Forge editor will be included with Halo 4, the shooter that will be released on November 6 for the Xbox 360. The game is made by 343 Industries. Certain Affinity only creates the Forge editor. The two studios have worked together before. In 2009, the two delivered the Halo Waypoint mobile application.
According to the Official Xbox Magazine UK, 343 Industries is not only working on Halo 4, but also has Halo 2 Anniversary in production. However, Microsoft has not yet announced the title. It is therefore in the rumors section of the magazine. It would be a remake of Halo 2, which is provided with a contemporary look by 343 Industries. The studio has done the same with Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, which was released in 2011. It’s a remake of the game that started the series in 2001, featuring 343 high-resolution textures.
