‘Half of home workers do not receive hardware compensation from employer’
Nearly half of home workers do not receive compensation for purchased hardware from their employer. This is evident from research by Multiscope. This includes monitors, laptops and laptop stands.
In total, home workers have bought 400 million worth of hardware, Multiscope reports. About 44 percent of home workers have bought something for the home workplace after the start of the corona pandemic. About 52 percent received money from the employer for this, 48 percent did not.
Home workers bought the most monitors, desks and office chairs, Multiscope notes. This is about 30 percent of the respondents. About one in eight bought a laptop or laptop stand. About 5 percent of the respondents have bought a printer for the home workplace.
A new coffee machine is on the list of new products for working from home for 4 percent of the respondents. Multiscope conducted the research among approximately 3000 employees in paid employment. It is not the only study of working from home. Last week TNO published the results of a study into working from home and the hardware used.
