Hacker install Windows 11 mini variant Tiny11 on vram of gpu

Hacker NTdev has managed to install a self-made mini version of Windows 11, Tiny11, on the vram of a gpu. The lightweight OS is a Windows 11 version without bloat and is therefore intended for devices with low specs.

The developer NTdev already released earlier this year Tiny11 out, a lightweight version of Microsoft’s latest operating system from which as many features as possible have been removed so that the OS can also run on devices with few resources such as RAM and storage. Since then, the hackers have been trying to install Tiny11 on various devices. For example, it previously managed to run the OS completely, where it only needed 200 MB of memory, although it was not possible to do anything in the OS. Now the maker has even managed to install Tiny11 in the virtual storage drive of a gpu.

The maker used GPURamDrive, an open source tool that makes it possible to create a virtual drive in gpu memory. With this, the developer managed to put the entire operating system in the vram of an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050. It has 4 GB of RAM. NTdev created a 3550MB VM to run the OS. The maker says in a video that he achieved sequential read and write speeds of 1960MB/s and 2497MB/s.
