H1Z1 gets a mobile port called Z1 Battle Royale. It is not yet known on which platforms the game will be released. At the same time, development will begin on a mobile version of Everquest.

The reason for the development of the two new mobile titles is an investment by the holding company Nantworks. How much the group invests in the American studio is not stated. In addition to one or more titles for mobile, the PC version of H1Z1: Battle Royale will also go through life under the name Z1 Battle Royale in the future.

H1Z1 originally started out as an online survival game themed around a zombie outbreak. Its development began at a time when the popularity of that genre and games like DayZ were at their peak. However, the hype around that genre faded over the years and at some point the whole thing was overthrown by the battle royale. Developer Daybreak decided to move the development of H1Z1 in that direction, a move Epic Games also made with Fortnite spinoff Fortnite: Battle Royale.

Z1 Battle Royale won’t be the first to make the move to mobile. Mobile versions of Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite: Battle Royale are also available.
