Guerrilla investigates problems PC players experience with Horizon Zero Dawn
Developer Guerrilla Games has on the radar of the complaints that some of the players of Horizon Zero Dawn on PC have expressed and is investigating the crashes and other problems that players are experiencing.
Guerrilla reports on Steam to investigate the reports ‘with the highest priority’. The studio writes that the crash and bug complaints are already helping the team address issues and advises players to continue reporting complaints through Reddit, Steam and Guerrilla’s own site.
Horizon Zero Dawn was released on August 7 for PC on Steam and on the Epic Games Store. Last weekend, a series of complaints appeared from players experiencing problems running the PC port. On Reddit, one user lists the game as randomly crashing, stuttering, unable to restart, and displaying in poor quality, among other things.
As a temporary work-around, disabling overlays and increasing the Windows page file to 16GB or more would help. Other players indicate that the game is running without any problems for them. It is not known how extensive the problems are. Last year, Rockstar was forced to compensate players with problems with the PC port of Red Dead Redemption due to startup problems and crashes. Rockstar then released several updates.
