Guerrilla Games is working on Intercept, a coop expansion for the 2013 Killzone Shadow Fall. The expansion will be released in June. The new co-op mode can be played with up to four players. The expansion also appears as a standalone title.

Guerrilla Games announces the new co-op game form Intercept via the Killzone Shadow Fall website. The expansion contains four maps, in which a team of up to four players takes on the computer-controlled Helghasts. The purpose of the coop missions is to retrieve information about the Helghasts and send it to the US headquarters.

Players can take on different roles within the team. It is not known from how many roles can be chosen. Guerrilla calls the Assault, who prefers to shoot enemies at close range, the ‘mid-to-long range’ Marksman and the supporting Medic and Tactician. More information about the different roles will follow.

The expansion will be released in June. It is not known what Intercept will cost. Players who have a Season Pass for the game will receive Intercept for free. According to Guerrilla, the expansion will also be available in stores later in the year as a standalone game.
