GTA Online players complain about issues moving to PS4 and Xbox One

Rockstar is getting reports from GTA Online players who are unable to transfer their character from the previous generation of consoles to the PlayStation 4 or the Xbox One. The problem is said to mainly affect players who have not yet played online in 2014.

Rockstar has previously promised that all existing gamers will be able to port their online character to the current generation of consoles. However, players who have not logged into GTA Online on the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 in the current calendar year are experiencing issues. If they want to transfer their character, they will be told that there is no existing data associated with their Social Club account. Players would then no longer be able to log in to GTA Online on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. They would then see the message that the Rockstar services are unreachable.

Rockstar has not yet found a solution to the problem, but the developer says it is investigating the problem. Players will only be able to sign up for a notification that will be sent when more information is available.
