GoPro Karma drone is back for sale after battery lock fix
GoPro has put its drone Karma back on sale. The company withdrew the quadcopter from sale because it sometimes fell out of the sky. GoPro has solved that problem by better locking the battery in the housing.
The Karma is immediately available in the United States and will be released in more countries in the spring, GoPro says. In addition, there will be a Flight Kit for users who already have a Karma Grip and want to purchase the drone.
In the months since the drone was taken off the market, GoPro has adjusted the battery lock. This was necessary because some Karma drones lost contact with the battery while in the air. Due to the lack of power, they suddenly fell out of the sky. Because that could lead to dangerous situations, the manufacturer recalled all 2500 flying machines sold up to that point.
The GoPro Karma drone was presented on September 19 and was for sale a month later for a suggested retail price of 869.99 euros. It is a compact quadcopter that can be folded and works in combination with the GoPro Hero5 action camera. Accessories also allow it to work with the Hero4 and Hero5 Session.
