Google will support Chrome for Windows 7 until 2022
Google has indicated that it will extend support for Chrome on Windows 7 a little longer. Until 2022, the internet giant will continue to support Chrome, so that companies have a little more time to switch to Windows 10.
On its blog, Google states that business customers can expect support until at least January 15, 2022. The previous date the company had communicated to end support was July 15 of next year. This way, companies will have a little longer to migrate their systems to Windows 10.
Google also says it will continue to monitor the situation. Although the company doesn’t say it in so many words, postponing the end of support again appears to be a possibility. Figures show that 22 percent of companies have not yet switched to Windows 10.
Microsoft itself has ended support for Windows 7 private users since the beginning of this year. Business customers will still receive updates for the operating system.
