Google will stop using Google+ Photos from next month

Google will stop using the photo management tool in its Google+ social network from next month. The search giant has announced this. Google wants users to switch to its new photo service Google Photos.

Some users are still missing the photo-editing features in Google Photos as found in Google+ Photos, causing them to say they will miss the service, according to reactions to the announcement. While Google Photos has a better algorithm for recognizing people, places, and objects and thus automatically sorts photos, it has relatively few photo editing options.

Google+ Photos will stop working on Android from August 1, and will stop working on iOS and in the browser at some point after that. This also eliminates the possibility to automatically upload photos from smartphones to Google’s social network; Photos are uploaded automatically to photos.google.com. Google+ Photos users will see a notification to download the Google Photos app.
