Google will show a maximum of two results from the same domain in the future

Google will limit the number of times websites appear on the first page of search results to two times. The search engine wants the first page to be more relevant by showing more ‘site diversity’.

Google announced the feature on on Twitter. “Have you ever searched for something and always found results from the same website?” asks the company. “That will change soon.”

In most cases, the new results show a result from one domain or subdomain at most twice. This concerns, for example, search results from programming questions that only show links to StackOverflow, or results from restaurant queries that only end up on Yelp or TripAdvisor. However, in some cases, Google says, more results may still appear from the same domains. In the latter case, it mainly concerns subdomains that deal with a different subject than the main domain.
