Google is easing its ban on crypto-related ads introduced in March. From October, regulated cryptocurrency exchanges will be allowed to advertise in the US and Japan again, but only with permission from Google.

Google reports on its support website that potential advertisers must be certified for the specific country they want to advertise in. Google itself decides whether a company can show advertisements related to cryptocurrencies. According to the wording, only regulated exchanges are allowed to advertise.

From October, companies that want to advertise with cryptocurrencies can apply. The ads are currently only shown in the US and Japan, but the advertisers may also come from other countries.

In March, Google introduced a total ban on cryptocurrency advertising. This was followed by Facebook, which already took a similar step in January. Facebook already relaxed the ban in June and also allows more than Google. The social network allows all approved advertisers to advertise cryptocurrencies as long as they are not initial coin offerings.
