Google will integrate Gmail, Chat, Rooms and Meet for G Suite customers at the end of this year
Google will integrate Gmail, Chat, Rooms and Meet in one interface. That will happen at the end of this year for business G Suite users. Some of those users can test the renewed interface from this week.
Google shows the new interface in a video. From one app, G Suite users can compose emails, chat, create rooms and start Meet video meetings. Interested users can sign up to get started with a trial version. The changes should be visible to all G Suite business users by the end of this year.
Google says it will make the adjustments to create an ‘integrated workplace’. In a session of the Google Cloud Next ’20 OnAir event, the company will provide more information about the integration of the various tools with Gmail. For the time being, the changes seem only intended for G Suite business users. As far as is known, the consumer versions will not be adjusted.
