Google updates Play Store to make it easier to manage installed apps

Google is in the process of publishing a Play Store update that should make it easier to distinguish between different categories of apps, such as “installed” and “beta”. In addition, there is now the option to rank the apps based on various variables.

A series of screenshots shows that under the new design, the ‘my apps’ section is divided into updates, installed, library and beta. These lists can be viewed in alphabetical order, last updated, last used, and size. The latter two will come in handy for users who need to free up space on their devices.

While some users are already reporting that they’ve received the update, that’s not the case for everyone. In fact, the editors of 9to5Google say they are on the same version of the Play Store, but they can’t see the changes. Most likely, Google is in a phased rollout of the new design, and in the worst case scenario, it could take several more weeks to see the new Play Store features.
