Google turns off servers VR platform Daydream, smartphone VR dream seems over
Google has started to shut down the servers for its VR platform Daydream. This marks the end of Google’s own mobile VR platform after five years. In any case, VR based on phones is no longer popular.
Users on Reddit note that the Daydream servers appear to have been shut down, preventing users from accessing the Daydream section of the Play Store download store. Already installed apps that rely on third-party servers can be used, the users say. The Daydream product page is still online.
