Google starts selling Titan security key with USB-C
Google has announced a new security key in its Titan series. The physical key, made in collaboration with Yubico, can be connected via USB-C and costs 40 dollars in the US, converted and 44 euros with VAT.
It is not known when the USB-C Titan Security Key, as Google calls the key, will be available in other countries. The Titan keys that function via bluetooth and usb-a and nfc have also been on sale in Canada, France, Japan and the United Kingdom since July. Google announced these Titan keys more than a year ago.
The operation of the usb-c variant is identical. The hardware key provides two-step authentication and works based on the FIDO standard. The keys are made by Yubico, known for the YubiKey keys, and run custom firmware by Google.
