Google starts selling Glass glasses ‘while supplies last’
Google has again started the public sale of its Google Glass glasses, this time without limiting the period to one day. Google still speaks of an open beta, the sale is only aimed at Americans and the stock is limited.
Google calls the response to the previous general sale, which lasted a day, “overwhelming.” However, not every pair of glasses that the group had sold in stock turned out to be: “We were almost out of stock and had to stop early”.
Google claims to have replenished the stocks and the sale will now continue until they are exhausted. The company also says it will expand and accelerate the project in the coming weeks and months.
With the open beta, Google is targeting sports enthusiasts, online retailers, cooks and travelers, among others. Google will start consumer sales later this year. The first batch of Glass glasses were released two years ago and amounted to 2000 pieces, followed by a new stock of 8000 pieces later that year. Google Glass costs $1500 for Americans.
