Google Stadia brings direct touch control for Humankind to iOS
Google has brought the touch-sensitive control direct touch to iOS. With this, Stadia users can still play PC games without native touch support with the touchscreen. For the time being, direct touch only works with Humankind. Android got direct touch earlier.
With direct touch, users can play games with taps, swipes and pinches on the screen, Google writes. This makes it easier to play PC and console games on smartphones. With a single touch of the screen, users select something; with two fingers, users can cancel something. If users press longer on the screen, they can preview something. With three fingers on the screen, the pause menu is displayed.
For the time being, direct touch only works with Humankind. This turn-based strategy game was released in August. Upon release, the Android Stadia version of the game got instant touch. It is not known whether Google also wants to provide other Stadia games with direct touch. Stadia games can also be played on Android and iOS with wireless controllers or keyboards and mice. In addition, Stadia on smartphones has an overlay with controller buttons.
