Google shows license information with image search results

Google comes with an update that makes it easier for internet users to view the license information for individual images in Google Images. The company marks the images with a special label, after which the necessary license information is displayed.

According to Google, this makes it easier to find licensed images. If the creator or publisher of an image has provided the license information, a label will appear with the text licensable shown. There is also a link available where the details about the license can be found. If necessary, a link from the publisher is available, so that the user can purchase a license and use the image.

In addition, the update makes it possible to display only images that contain license information. It is also possible to select images that only have a Creative Commons license, or images whose use is accompanied by the purchase of a commercial license.

Google says these changes fit in with a series of changes to Google Images that should make it clearer who the creators or copyright holders of the images are.
