Google showed Android 11 developer site for a short time
Google had a developer site online for a short time for Android 11, presumably the next release of its mobile operating system. The site didn’t say anything about new features for the upgrade.
The developer site is now offline again, reports Android Police. It is the first time that the developer site for a new version of Android has started listing a version number. Last year, Google used a letter in the winter to indicate a new version of Android; Android 10 was Q, Android 9 was P and Android 8 was O.
The first developer versions of new Android upgrades often come out at the end of winter. For example, Android Q came out in March last year. The early test version gives developers time to update apps before the final version comes out, usually at the end of the summer.
Google has stopped giving names of sweets to Android releases since last year. Since Android 1.5 Cupcake, the Android versions were given a name in addition to the version number, including Gingerbread, Lollipop and Pie.
