Google releases latest Android 7.0 Nougat preview
Google releases the fifth and final developer preview of Android 7 ‘Nougat’. With that, virtually all necessary system updates are now available to developers on all supported devices, including several Nexus devices, Pixel C, and the Android One platform.
Included in the images from this latest developer preview is an emulator for running the latest tests for Nougat apps, the latest api-level 24 Android N APIs, and the latest bug fixes and optimizations the development team writes on its blog.
Developers are urged to publish updates to the Play Store after testing with this fifth developer release as soon as possible, depending on the status of the projects to an alpha, beta or production channel.
Note that apps must be able to handle changes to various system behaviors, such as the battery saver Doze, the split screen feature, screen zoom, changes to special permissions, Direct Reply, and other changes to the notification screen.
Users who already participate in the Android Beta program with the correct devices will automatically receive the Developer Preview 5, otherwise they can still register for it. It is unknown when the new version will be released in beta.
