Google releases hub that displays information about specific advertisers
Google is releasing a hub where users can find more background information about ads they see. The Ads Transparency Center is a database containing data about which ads advertisers show.
Users can find the platform via My Ad Center in their Google account. Google writes in a blog post that the Ads Transparency Center is intended to help users “learn more about the ads they see online.” The feature will be available to every user, but will only be rolled out to all users in the coming weeks.
In the hub, users can see which ads they have previously seen on the Search page and in the apps and on YouTube. Users can then also see which other advertisements an advertiser has shown. There is also information about where, when and in which parts of the world the advertisement ran.
Google also provides information about that advertiser, for example whether it has been officially verified. Users can report blocking ads, but also choose whether they want to see more or less of them. This is possible for both the specific advertiser and the subject. In the main screen you can generally set which topics users are or are not interested in.
