Google releases Chrome OS 103 with new photo and Wi-Fi sharing features

Spread the love

Google has started rolling out Chrome OS 103. The new version of the operating system will have the option to share recent photos from a paired Android device more easily and the option to share Wi-Fi passwords via Nearby Share.

In the Phone Hub on Chrome OS, it is now possible to view the most recent photos taken with a paired Android device. These photos appear according to Google automatically in the Phone Hub, but Chrome OS doesn’t download them right away. This only happens when a user clicks on the photo. The feature also works when the Chrome OS device is offline.

It will also be possible to share WiFi passwords with nearby Android devices. Chrome OS users must select a wireless network through the Wi-Fi settings menu and can share its data through the Nearby Share feature, which Google says has been greatly expanded.

This summer it will also become easier for Chrome OS users to connect Bluetooth headsets or earphones to the operating system via Fast Pair. Through this function, Chrome OS scans for Bluetooth earphones. The operating system then gives a message with the option to connect the accessories immediately. That link is also stored in the user’s Google account, so that the accessories are also linked to other devices that use the same Google account.
