Google puts more news, podcast content and 3D models of physical objects in search results. The search giant announced this at its own developer conference I/O. The steps should give users more relevant results.

When searching for physical objects such as shoes and fish, of which Google has a 3d model, users can see them directly in the search results and place them in their own camera image. This is done from the search results in the mobile browser, Google showed in the keynote of its developer conference I/O.

In addition, users can expect podcasts among search results. Google indexes them not only on the basis of title, but also on the basis of content. Users can listen to the podcast right away from the search results or save it for later listening. The feature to read more news stories about a topic is already available in Google News, but will also appear in mobile search results. Google also uses an algorithm to create a timeline of developments around a certain topic. The updates will be available in the US later this year. It is unknown if and when they will be available in the Benelux.
