Google publishes changed release schedule for Chrome and Chrome OS
Google has resumed work on Chrome and Chrome OS releases and will release upcoming updates with a modified release schedule. Version 80 will be released next week, with security fixes.
Google clarifies that version 82 of all channels of Chrome and Chrome OS has been deleted. The work from that version has been integrated into version 83, and that release will come in mid-May, three weeks earlier than previously planned. This week, Chrome 83 will reach Dev status and 81 will get the beta stamp.
Next week, the stable channel will resume with Chrome 80, which includes security updates, followed by Chrome 81 the week of April 7. Nothing is known about Chrome 84 yet, but more information about that will come in a future update.
That ends the hiatus from Chrome and Chrome OS releases. Google charged it a week ago, probably because the development team had to make adjustments to its working conditions due to the cornona virus.
