Google Play Store now shows reviews from users with the same type of device

Google has rolled out a new feature for the Play Store, where users will only see reviews from other users with the same type of device. This should ensure that the reviews match the device on which the app comes.

Google announced the arrival of the personalized display of app reviews already arrived last year. Android Police discovered this week that the new review view has now been rolled out for all Android users.

Google filters the reviews per type of device, because the experience between, for example, a smartwatch and smartphone can differ greatly. The experience can also be different between smartphones, for example if the user has a foldable phone and the app has to be adapted to it to work properly.

It is the second change in a short time that Google is making to the Play Store review system. Earlier this week, Google announced that from now on it will take 24 hours for a review to appear in the Play Store. This gives the tech giant more time to detect abuse of the review system.
