Google Play Movies makes Netflix and Disney+ content searchable
Google has added the ability to Play Movies to search the libraries of Netflix and Disney+. It was already possible to view the offers of other parties, but these two providers were still missing.
The link with Netflix and Disney+ seems to have been made somewhat quietly; Android Police discovered the possibility in the Play Movies application. On a support page at Google, both streaming providers appeared in the list of supported services.
If you want to use the option to search content from Netflix or Disney+ via Play Movies, you must have an account on these services and have the application on your smartphone. After linking the account to Play Movies, the relevant video library becomes searchable in Play Movies. In addition, this only works for Americans for the time being, and it is not yet known when the functionality will also be released for Europeans.
More changes for Play Movies appear to be on the way, as hints of support for Dolby Vision surfaced earlier this month. Preparations for this seem to have already been made, according to a parsing of a new version of the Play Movies app.
