Google Now leads owner to parked car

Google has added a new feature to Google Now. The feature detects if a user parks their car and offers the option to navigate back to that spot. The capability will be added via an update to Google Search.

Based on, among other things, location and speed data, Google Now determines whether the user has parked his car. The software then creates a map, with which users can navigate back to that place, reports Android Authority. The card will automatically become available in Google Now ten minutes to fifteen minutes after parking. Google itself says that the location is not entirely accurate, because Now only gives an estimate. It is not known whether and in what way Google is able to recognize whether someone has actually driven a car and has not, for example, traveled by bus and got off.

The feature is part of the Google Search update to version 3.4, which can be downloaded as an apk file or will automatically come to devices from the Play Store in the coming weeks. The update also includes a new interface for managing reminders and a new way to keep track of contact nicknames. Google Now works on all devices with Android 4.1 and above.
