Google Meet lets users raise a digital hand by raising a physical hand

Google Meet can recognize when the user has raised his or her hand, after which the video conferencing tool also raises the user’s digital hand. This way, others know that the user wants to say something, for example, without having to press a button.

To the function To use it, users must hold their hand up, away from their body and face, for several seconds. Measure then indicates that the hand has been recognized and that the digital hand is raised. The user can then remove the physical hand and the digital hand remains up. The gesture function is disabled by default and can be enabled in the Reactions settings. The feature won’t work while users are actively talking and should be available to all Workspace users by mid-December.
