Google Meet includes a simplified mode for meetings on the go
Google has made the so-called On-the-Go mode available for its meeting app Meet. This ensures that traveling participants can more easily participate in a meeting via their smartphone or tablet.
Google started rolling out the feature to all Workspace customers and users with personal Google accounts on Wednesday. On-the-Go features a simplified interface that is easier to use while walking or driving, writes the company. Meet detects when a user is moving and can then automatically switch to On-the-Go mode. However, this is optional. The user can choose to continue using Meet in normal mode.
In addition to providing a customized interface, the mode ensures that the camera is automatically turned off and it is possible to view presentations. The app also only shows a few basic details, such as the number of participants and who is speaking.
