Google Maps will show images of popular dishes

Google Maps will add images of popular dishes to restaurant pages in the app. After a new update, some users will have the option to see hot food from a restaurant.

Several Google Maps users report the new option on Twitter. With them, a new tab appears in the Menu page showing popular dishes, including photos of other visitors. By clicking through, users can also see reviews of dishes.

Restaurant owners can already add menus and prices to Maps themselves, but the current dishes seem to have been found mainly through crowdsourcing. This concerns photos and reviews that users leave behind themselves. Most of the dishes mentioned in reviews appear under a ‘popular’ tab. It looks like it’s still a beta feature. It is unknown when all Maps users will be able to see the feature.
