Google Maps is testing speed camera warnings
In the UK, Google Maps is testing the display of speed camera warnings on its maps. A user was shown the location of speed cameras on the Google Maps mobile app.
It is not known how many users participate in the test, about which Android Police reports. The site was handed screenshots from a tipster, without much detail about the feature. The screenshots show a region in the United Kingdom.
The addition is not entirely unexpected. At the end of last year there were already reports from Australian users on Reddit that they could indicate speed traps on Google Maps. Then it turned out that accidents could also be reported.
With this, Google seems to integrate functions of Waze into Google Maps. In Europe, Flitsmeister is also known as an app for speed camera warnings. That app, in turn, has been expanded with navigation.
