Google makes web client for chat service Allo available
Google has released a web client for chat service Allo. For now, it only works in combination with the Allo app for Android. In addition, the browser version only works in Google’s own Chrome browser.
It is not known whether Google has plans to make Allo’s web client available in other browsers. To use the web version, users must have the latest version of the Allo app for Android installed. It was released on the Play Store last Monday.
After visiting the Allo webpage, users have to scan a QR code and then it is possible to use the chat service in the browser. You can also talk to the Google Assistant from the browser.
In February, Google announced that a web client for Allo would be coming and more than a month ago, the company said that the browser version would come in a few weeks. It is not yet clear when users of Allo on the iPhone can use the browser version.
