Google makes it easier for Android app makers to earn money with ads
Developers who create games for Android can now more easily give players in-game rewards when they watch a commercial. Google has released a tool for that. In this way, according to Google, developers can earn more money from players.
The first type of ad that developers can use is a movie. Google gives the example of a Space Invaders-esque game. When players are finished with a level, they can double their score by watching a movie. Users are then shown a six-second video advertising a soft drink. In addition to doubling their score, players could also get in-game money or some other reward as well.
According to Google, it is currently a trend to reward players by watching ads. With this tool, which is included in the Google Play Console, Google wants to make it easier for developers to implement. Google writes that this gives players more choice in how they experience a game. Also, it would be an effective way to make money from players who don’t want to pay money for a game.
The tool is currently in open beta. Developers can add the ads through Google Play Billing Library or AIDL interfaces. Additional SDK integration is not required. This makes it easier for developers to apply the ads, according to Google. The ads work with AdMob technology.
