Google makes experimental Chrome Canary builds available on Android

Google has opened up a new release channel for experimental versions of Chrome for Android. It is now also possible to get the Canary builds, in which new features are tested first.

Chrome Canary for Android is intended for developers and early adopters, but is not a stable browser. These are experimental releases, which have not been tested and may be unstable or may not work. Nevertheless, the goal of the Chrome team is to make the Canary app usable at all times. Solving major problems is therefore a priority.

Initially, the Android app will receive an update every working day. In the future, new builds may also appear over the weekend. Updating the Chrome Canary app usually costs more than 100MB of data traffic per week, Google warns.

On Android, it was possible to download Chrome’s dev channel releases since last year; that is the second earliest test version of the browser. Until now, the Canary builds were not available on the mobile OS. However, there were already Canary builds for Windows and Mac.
