Google makes Buddy Pass available for free trial subscription to Stadia Pro
Google has launched its Stadia Buddy Pass. Stadia users who have pre-ordered the Founder’s Edition of the game service can invite a friend to use Stadia Pro for free for three months.
Since Wednesday, Stadia gamers with a Founder’s Edition will receive a ticket via Google’s Stadia app with which they can generate an invitation code for a Buddy Pass. This code gives a friend access to all games available through the Stadia Pro offering for three months.
The two games that are currently free to play are Destiny 2: The Collection and Samurai Shodown. The latter title normally costs 60 euros. Google recently announced that two more games will be free to play for Pro members on December 1. These are Tomb Raider: Definitive Collection and Farming Simulator 19. All other games on Stadia Pro must be purchased, but those who own a Buddy Pass are eligible for discounts on certain titles.
Users can redeem their invite code through the Stadia app for Android and iOS. During that process, if this has not already happened for another Google service, a payment method must also be set. After the three-month trial period, the free trial is automatically converted into a paid subscription of 9.99 euros per month, unless the user cancels his subscription before the expiration date.
