Google makes Android Auto for Phone Screens app available
Google comes with an Android Auto for Phone Screens app. The app is a temporary solution for users who have problems with the Auto functionality in Android 10. The app is available in the Play Store and can also be downloaded as an apk file.
Google has fully integrated Android Auto into the latest version of its mobile operating system, Android 10. Some users report having problems with the updated Android Auto functionality, writes The Verge. The old version of Android Auto had its own interface on smartphones, but with Android 10 that disappears. Users with older cars will not be able to use the integrated Auto functionality in Android 10 as a result.
For these users, Google comes with the Android Auto for Phone Screens app. Google was initially supposed to come with a driving mode for the Google Assistant, but the development of this feature was delayed. This functionality was supposed to come out in the summer, but now has no concrete release date. The Assistant Driving Mode should solve all of the above problems. Google has confirmed to The Verge that the Android Auto for Phone Screens app is a temporary solution. Users may also use Google Maps; this app has a full-fledged driving mode these days.
The Android Auto for Phone Screens app is now available in the Play Store. Users can sideload the app by downloading an apk file. This can be done via APK Mirror. The app seems to only work on Android 10 devices, as smartphones with an older Android version can use the ‘normal’ Auto app.
