Google lets users save parking location in Maps
Google offers in a new version of its Maps application the possibility to save the location of a parked car. It is possible to save notes and take photos, and to receive a reminder when the parking time has expired.
The innovations are in version 9.49 of Maps for Android, which has been parsed by Android Police. For the time being, the new version does not seem to have appeared within the Google Play download store, but it is likely that this will happen in the short term.
In the new version of Maps, a possibility to manually enter a parking location seems to be the most important new feature. It is also possible to attach photos to the location, so that it is easier to find the car again. It is also possible to put a time limit on the parking location, to help prevent the parking limit from being exceeded. It is not possible to enter more than one parking location at the same time. There was already an option to have the parking location automatically detected by Google, but this often didn’t work well.
Google also shows the weather when planning a trip via public transport. It is also possible to receive notifications from train or bus stations, although the details are lacking. Finally, Android Police noticed changes to Android Auto’s interface.
