Google is working on option to group tabs in Chrome
The Chromium development team is working on a feature called Tab Groups. This should make it possible for users to group tabs in, for example, a new tab for a certain task.
ChromeStory found the addition to Chromium, the open source project for the code on which Chrome is based. The feature announcement is very recent, from five days ago, and there is also a request for a flag for the feature. The description reads: “Users can organize tabs into visually distinct groups, such as separate tabs for different tasks.”
The description of the feature is reminiscent of a similar tab organizing option from Edge. Windows 10’s browser has a ‘set aside’ feature, which allows you to set aside open tabs as a group for later remediation. There are also extensions for Chrome that already offer this functionality. It is unknown when the feature will appear in the Canary build of Chrome.
