Google is working on better integration between ChromeOS and Android

Google is working on ways to exchange tasks and notifications between an Android phone and a Chrome OS laptop. To this end, the search giant is making a function called Phone Hub, according to commits.

Phone Hub’s features will be placed under Connected Devices settings, 9to5Google says. They are called Phone Hub Notifications, Notifications Badge and Task Continuation. This indicates that Chrome OS users can see and may be able to take action on their Android phone’s notifications. Task Continuation seems to indicate that Chrome OS users can pick up where they started on their phones.

With Your Phone, Microsoft has a way to access Android phones from Windows computers. With that app it is also possible to see notifications and, for example, to control music on the phone from a laptop or desktop computer with Windows 10.

Google mentions Phone Hub in various commits on the site with Chromium source code. Google has not yet commented on the find. It often happens that information about positions that have not yet been announced is released via commits.
