Google is working on AI feature for Chrome to search browsing history
Google is working on a new feature for Chrome where artificial intelligence will help users search browsing history in “everyday language.” The search data is sent to Google and can be viewed by employees.
The searches include general page content, page titles and URLs. This is evident from a screenshot of MSPowerUser. The new feature should provide “improved results” and work from Chrome's address bar and history page, reports gHacks. According to Google, the search function supports 'everyday language'. It is not yet known when the feature will be rolled out to all users.
Google says employees can access the data “to improve the feature.” Chrome continues to store the content locally on the user's device in 'encrypted form', but the search data is also sent to Google, presumably for training the AI model. It's not clear if the feature is enabled by default, but users can disable the feature if they wish.
