Google is working on a ‘mobile gaming with friends’ service
Google is working on a ‘mobile gaming with friends’ service. The search giant does not want to disclose anything further about Arcade, as the service will be called. According to financial news agency Bloomberg, it is a start-up within Google.

Users would log in to Arcade with a mobile phone number and not with a social network or Google account, Bloomberg reports citing an anonymous source. The account will then allow the user to play games with others, according to the financial news agency’s information.
The first game that works with Arcade has elements of a trivia game and should be released this summer. It is unknown what games will follow next. Google has had the Play Games service for some time, where users can, among other things, save and compare high scores. The developer at the helm of Arcade is a 21-year-old engineer who previously worked at Facebook, according to Bloomberg. It is a project within Area 120, where employees can start an ‘internal start-up’.
Google confirms the existence of Arcade to Bloomberg, but does not want to reveal any further details. Chances are Arcade will be featured at Google I/O, the search giant’s developer conference that’s taking place next week.
