Google is testing Discover feed at desktop homepage in India

Google is testing a tweak to its desktop homepage. Indian users are shown a Discover feed, which includes news articles. It is not yet known whether and when the adjustment will be rolled out worldwide.

The addition of the Discover feed to Google.com has been noticed, among other things by MSPowerUser. The content of the feed is based on the user’s preferences and settings, just like in Google’s app for iOS and Android. Bing has a similar feed on its desktop homepage.

A Google spokesperson confirms The Verge that the Discover feed on desktop is only visible in India. It is not clear whether showing the feed is optional or whether it can also be disabled. This is certainly possible in the mobile version of Google.
