Google is introducing dark mode and two account support for Nest Hub

Google comes with an update for ‘smart screens’ that use Google Assistant. This concerns, for example, the Nest Hub and Nest Hub Max. These devices, among others, will receive a dark mode and support for multiple accounts.

The update introduces a dark theme, which changes the color scheme of the interface to emit less light, which, according to Google, is especially useful for use in the dark. It is possible to activate the dark or light mode automatically based on the ambient light or the sunrise or sunset.

Another change is support for multi-account setup, mostly personal and business accounts. They are no longer separate and can be linked together, so that users no longer have to switch between these accounts and can see information from both accounts in the same place.

There are also a number of new screens, where the home screen shows an overview for the day, with for example news, event reminders, the agenda and the weather forecast. This screen changes throughout the day, so that recommendations match the different parts of the day. Another new screen is a media page where videos, music and other content from, for example, Disney +, Netflix, YouTube TV and Spotify are suggested.
