Google will stop supporting Chrome sync in Chrome version 48. Once the stable version of Chrome 96 is rolled out, syncing user data and settings with Chrome 48 will no longer be possible, according to Google.

The software giant had previously announced that Chrome 48 will lose support for Chrome sync this fall and users will need to update to at least version 49 to continue using the functionality.

Sync in Chrome allows passwords, favorites, browsing history, open tabs, settings, preferences, and payment information from Google Pay to be synced across devices with the browser installed.
