Google is adding emoji reactions to Google Meet
Users of the Google Meet video chat service will soon be able to use emojis to share reactions during video calls. The emojis appear as a badge on the left side of a contact’s video panel during video calls.
Multiple emoji responses at once will show the responses overlaid on the left side of the Google Meet UI. Users can provide an emoji response by clicking the emoji icon on the Google taskbar. That bar is at the bottom of the Google Meet UI. It will also be possible to change the skin color of certain emojis. The choice that a user makes in it becomes according to Google applied to all other emojis where this option applies.
Google Meet video call organizers and Google Workspace suite admins can disable the feature if they see fit. Google users with a personal account can currently already use the feature. The feature will roll out to business users in the coming weeks. The feature can be used in the Google Meet web application, on Google devices and also on iOS devices. According to Google, users of Android devices will have to wait a while, but will soon also be able to use the emoji reactions.
