Google introduces new way of searching within apps
Google has introduced a new way of searching within applications on Android devices with Google Search. The feature is called ‘In Apps’, it only searches on the phone itself and can be found under a new tab in the Google Search app.
With the new function it is possible to search within installed apps on Android. Initially, the feature will only work with a few apps according to a post on Google’s Inside Search blog, but it will be expanded in the coming months. In Apps, for example, works with the Gmail app, but not with Inbox. Search also works within Spotify or YouTube and Facebook Messenger, LinkedIn, Evernote, Glide, Google Keep and Todoist will be added soon.
According to the search giant, the function works completely offline and only on the phone itself, so that the personal results can only be seen for the user himself. LG has already added the feature to the home screen of the upcoming LG V20 smartphone that the company will release in early September.
