The latest version of the Google Home app includes references to a new Nest Wifi router. 9to5Google reports this. The new model is codenamed Breeza and will be listed in version 3.4 of the Google Home app, which is now available on the Play Store.

The Google Home app will contain references to ‘Breeza’ and ‘BRZA’ after the update, which will also include the Nest Wifi branding. That’s what 9to5Google writes in its APK Insights series, in which the website decompiles new versions of Google applications and examines them for future features or products. In a string of code containing the name Breeza, it is stated, among other things, that ‘the WAN and LAN ports are on the back of the Nest Wifi router’.

It is not known how the Nest Wifi differs from the existing Nest Wifi and last year’s Nest Wifi Pro. For example, the Google Home app contains no indications that the router will again have a speaker with the Google Assistant built-in. Google has re-released old routers at a lower price in the past. For example, the company did this with the Nest Wifi router from 2020, which was a rerelease of the Google Wifi from 2016. The tech giant may do that again with Breeza, although this is not confirmed in the code of the Google Home app.

The Google Home app does not include a release date for the new Nest Wifi router. 9to5Google speculates that the router will be released in the coming months. The Google Pixel 8 phones are also expected to be released this fall. Google may show the new router at the same time as these phones, or a release will follow at a different time.
