Google+ gets a major makeover with an emphasis on communities and collections
Google is giving its social network Google+ a major makeover. With the new design, Google wants to put more emphasis on the communities and collections within the network. The simplified design should make navigation easier.
In the new design, Google pushes the most active parts of the social network to the front. These include the communities in which people with the same interest gather. According to Google, 1.2 million people join a community every day. The collections, in which posts with the same subject are collected, will also receive more attention in the new design. This feature was added to Google+ in May.
The upcoming changes have been announced on Google’s blog. In addition, product director Luke Wroblewski explains more in a post on his Google+ account. If you want to view the new design, log in and click on ‘Let’s go’. Because not all functions work with the new design yet, it is possible to switch back to the old design at any time. Google will implement the design changes in its apps for Android and iOS in the coming days.
