Google makes it possible to livestream video calls via the video calling platform Google Meet to YouTube. That way, interested parties can pause the video call or watch it again at a later time.

The position is mainly aimed at companies and schools. Live streaming of video calls is available to most paid Workspace users. This includes users of Google Workspace Individual, Google Workspace Enterprise Starter and the Google One Premium subscription that provides additional cloud storage.

Livestreaming Google Meet conversations makes it possible to reach a wider audience, including people outside of an organization. In addition, it is possible to pause the stream or watch it back at a later time after the presentation.

Such a live streaming service was previously also available for Google Hangouts. However, in 2019, Google pulled the plug on the part called Hangouts On Air. In 2020, the tech giant also discontinued group video calling in Hangouts and then redirecting users to Google Meet. Recently, the company also announced that Duo is merging with Meet.
